Terms of Service

Unwire Launch (launch.unwire.hk, the "Site") is operated by Unwire ("we", "us") in Hong Kong. By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

If you use the Site on behalf of a company or team, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

• You must be at least 13 to create an account; if you are under 18, you need your parent's or guardian's consent.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email and Google account secure.
• One person, one account. Multiple or shared accounts used to influence votes, rankings or points are not allowed.
• Your @handle must not impersonate anyone or infringe anyone's rights; we may reclaim or change handles that do.

When using the Site, you must not:

• manipulate upvotes, reviews, rankings or points — including buying or trading votes, fake or coordinated accounts, or self-reviewing your own product without disclosing it;
• post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, misleading or spam;
• disclose other people's personal data without their consent (which may be an offence under Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance);
• infringe copyright, trade marks or other rights, or post content you don't have the right to share;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection to a product;
• upload malware, probe or disrupt the Site's security, or access it by automated means in a way that burdens it (our robots.txt applies to crawlers);
• use the Site to break any law.

We may remove content, reverse votes or points, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

You keep ownership of what you post — product descriptions, images, reviews, comments and profile content ("Your Content").

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example resize or format), translate, display and distribute Your Content on the Site and in our newsletter and social channels promoting the Site, for as long as it is on the Site and for a reasonable time afterwards (for example in archived emails).

You confirm you have the rights needed to post Your Content and grant this licence, and that it follows these Terms. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience.

• Only submit products you make, represent or are entitled to list, and keep the information accurate. Logos, screenshots and media must be yours to use or used with permission.
• We review submissions and may accept, decline, edit, categorise, translate or remove any listing at our discretion. We may use AI services to draft or translate listing text and generate screenshots from the information and website you provide; you remain responsible for checking your listing is accurate and telling us about errors.
• Makers can claim a listing after verification. We may reassign or revoke a claim if ownership is disputed or misrepresented.
• Rankings, leaderboards, awards and featured placements are based on community activity and our editorial judgement. We don't guarantee any placement, traffic or result.
• A listing is not our endorsement of a product. Your dealings with any product or its maker are between you and them.

unwire Points, badges and awards recognise community participation. They have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged, and we may adjust, reset or remove them — for example to correct errors or abuse — or change how they work.

• We offer paid services such as advertising placements and listing upgrades. The price, what is included and the period are shown before you pay; prices are in Hong Kong dollars unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. We don't store your card details.
• Ads and upgraded listings must follow these Terms and applicable law; we may decline or remove ones that don't, with a pro-rata refund for any unused paid period unless the removal is due to your breach.
• Because paid placements begin on the scheduled date, fees are non-refundable once the placement has started, except where we fail to provide the service or where the law requires otherwise. If we can't deliver, we'll offer a replacement slot or a refund.

The Site's design, software, text we write, the Unwire Launch name and logos belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as these Terms allow, or where a separate licence (for example an open-source licence) applies.

The Site links to products, websites and services run by others, and sign-in and payments rely on third parties (such as Google and Stripe). We aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices.

Listings, reviews and other content come largely from makers and the community. We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any information on it is complete or up to date. Please check important details with the product's maker before relying on them.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under Hong Kong law.

To the extent permitted by Hong Kong law:

• we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill arising from your use of the Site or any listed product;
• our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or HK$500 if you haven't paid us anything.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including under the Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance (Cap. 71).

If a third party makes a claim against us because of Your Content or your breach of these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs arising from that claim, to the extent caused by you.

You can stop using the Site at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing eric.leung@unwire.hk. We may suspend or close accounts, or remove content, that break these Terms or the law, or to protect users or the Site. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as your licence for content already distributed, disclaimers, liability and governing law) survive.

We may change the Site and these Terms. We'll update the date at the top, and give notice on the Site or by email before significant changes take effect. Continuing to use the Site after that means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally; otherwise the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.

These Terms are available in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
